Pulitzer Prize–winning author Jane Smiley returns to Iowa City in support of her latest novel, Lucky, the story of a folk musician who rises to fame across our changing times. This special event is sponsored by Prairie Lights Books and the Iowa City Public Library.
Full of atmosphere, shot through with longing and exuberance, romance and rock ‘n’ roll, Lucky is a story of chance and grit and the glitter of real talent, a colorful portrait of one woman’s journey in search of herself.
Admission is free, doors open at 1:00 p.m., general admission. Books will be available to purchase on site before and after the program from Prairie Lights Books.
