We all want to have our “house in order” to provide clear instructions for our loved ones, and to avoid having to make hasty, last-minute decisions. We also want to hear from an expert about how best to handle critical, end-of-life decisions and instructions. We are fortunate that Prof. Shelly Kurtz will meet with us on Zoom to explain these important issues and the documents needed to help ensure our final wishes are followed.
Shelly Kurtz is the David H. Vernon Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of Law. He is just entering his 48th year of teaching at the UI. Shelly has authored six books in the areas of Property and Trust and Estates Law and numerous articles in those fields as well as in the area of health law. He has taught Health Law at Iowa since the early 90s and is the author of the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, which is the law allowing people to donate their organs for transplant purposes. It has been adopted in all but two U.S. states.
The Zoom link for this event will be sent to registrants in advance.
