What is this?
Join us for lunch at the museum cafe and a docent-led tour of the intriguing show "Rose Frantzen: Portrait of Maquoketa and The Storytelling Tree" at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport.
Rose Frantzen is an artist living in Maquoketa, Iowa. She has painted 180 portraits of local residents and mounted them on panels that are suspended from the ceiling. On the reverse side of the panels are pieces of a landscape of the town that when viewed from a certain place line up as a single work. "The Storytelling Tree" is a children's book by Chuck Morris, and the illustrations for this book are part of this exhibit.
Schedule:
11:00 am Meet for carpooling
12:00 pm Lunch at the museum cafe
1:30 pm Docent-led tour
There is limited parking directly in front of the museum and additional parking nearby. Members wishing to carpool should contact Vicky Tardy for more information.
