About this event

At 1,062 acres, F.W. Kent Park is the largest property owned by Johnson County Conservation Department. It contains a combination of relic and reconstructed prairies, oak savanna, forests, wetlands and a 27-acre lake.

Join Iowa City Public Library staff for a walking tour of a part of the park led by Iowa DNR District Forester Mark Vitosh and Johnson County Conservation staff from Kent Park. Experience an insider's guide to the park as they point out things you might not see on your own.

The tour will start at 9 AM from the Conservation Education Center in the northeast corner of the park about a mile in from the entrance. Follow the signs.

Registration is required for this event due to limited parking. Only one person per vehicle needs to register.

Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing and bring drinking water and bug spray.
