TRAIL has been working to develop a quarterly opportunity for Member Service Volunteers to gather. Based on your feedback, these quarterly gatherings are designed to provide opportunities for learning, connection, reflection, and support for the important work you do with TRAIL members.
We invite you to TRAIL’s first quarterly Volunteer Education and Support gathering on Wednesday, June 3, from 3 – 4:30 PM at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Our first session will feature Mary McCall, who will lead a thoughtful discussion focused on grief and aging, including the loss and grief we may experience as volunteers working with older adults. This promises to be a meaningful conversation about navigating change, building resilience, and supporting one another in this work.
Mary McCall is a respected counselor, educator, and facilitator with extensive experience in grief support, aging, and caregiving. She has worked with individuals and groups across the community to help people better understand loss, transitions, and emotional well-being through compassionate and practical approaches.
In addition to the program, we’ll spend a little time brainstorming ideas for future sessions, time, and location, and a more engaging and memorable name for these quarterly meetings — perhaps something catchier than “Volunteer Education and Support” — and we’d love your ideas. We hope you’ll join us for this opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers and continue building the supportive community that makes TRAIL so special.
Please let us know if you plan to attend. RSVP by signing up via the calendar, by emailing Jessica or Christine, or calling the office. Thank you for all you do for TRAIL and the older adults we serve.
