Red Cedar Chamber Music: “Reunion Redux”
About this event

The Iowa City Senior Center invites you to experience Red Cedar Chamber Music’s “Reunion Redux” featuring guest violist Oliver Bostian with core musicians Miera Kim and Carey Bostian in works for string trio.
The program will feature the viola in Bach’s Sonata in G Minor for Viola da Gamba and will premiere a newly commissioned work by Iowa City composer Brian Lenth. Says Lenth, “Again and again and again is a sympathetic picture of paranoia. It uses a ‘maximalist’ texture to create the feeling of being caught within many conflicting agendas. In the midst of the chaos, a voice from within prays for truthful sanity.”
Other works on the program are a three-movement trio by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and the highly entertaining Suite Latinoamericana by Vinicio Meza. Don’t miss this tremendous opportunity to hear a string trio in an intimate setting!
ICSC invites the public to enjoy the performance and meet the musicians at a reception following the concert.
