Do you have vegetable seeds to share? Would you like to get some new ones to try? Join the Iowa City Public Library staff and local garden enthusiasts for the Nine Square Feet Seed Swap & Giveaway!

This annual state-wide event is sponsored by Nine Square Feet, a nonprofit gardening group in West Des Moines that partners with libraries across the state to promote backyard food production. The seeds available have been carefully selected to thrive in Zone 5. Some are heirloom seeds while others are new varieties.

All are welcome to attend this free event. You do not have to bring seeds to swap to participate, but if you have seeds to share, do bring them along.

Due to the limited number of seed packets available, there will be a limit of five packets per household, which will be plenty for a backyard garden!
