2nd Sunday Garden Forum: Creating a Pocket Prairie in Your Landscape

About this event

In this month’s 2nd Sunday Garden Forum, Kasey Hutchinson from the Johnson County Department of Planning, Development and Sustainability will discuss the benefits of pocket prairies and how to design and build one in your own landscape.

Since 2018 Kasey has served as Johnson County's Environmental Regulations Coordinator, ensuring that developments in unincorporated areas meet the county's environmental standards. She also manages the county's Soil Health Program and represents Johnson County on the Middle Iowa Watershed Management Authorities (MIWMAI), advancing regional efforts to protect and restore water resources. Kacey brings broad experience in water resource management, having worked across all levels of government, as well as in the private sector. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa.

The Second Sunday Garden Forums are cosponsored by Project GREEN and the Iowa City Public Library.

This live event will also be streamed live on the Library's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/thelibrarychannel
