Learn about the World of Tea with Judith Leavitt

About this event

The Coralville Public Library invites you to sample various teas while you learn from local tea expert and author, Judith Leavitt. Learn the origins and benefits of different teas. Learn to identify teas and make the perfect cup of tea.

During this free presentation, you’ll taste three premium teas (green, oolong, black) and enjoy teatime treats.

Tea is the most consumed beverage in the world after water. Judith will introduce you to the fascinating world of premium loose leaf tea. You will hear the myths of the origins of tea, learn where tea is grown in the world, discover how tea is processed to make the six types of tea and get instructions for making the ‘perfect cup of tea’.

Judith has collected and studied over 350 books on tea and formed Talking Tea LLC to share her passion for tea and the tea lifestyle. The author of "Talking Tea: Casual Tea Drinker to Tea Connoisseur" (2020), "Talking Tea Journal: Tea Lover’s Tasting Notes" (2020), and "Oolongs: Partially Oxidized Teas with Complex Aromas and Flavors" (2024), she uses her copyrighted Periodic Table of Talking Tea to entice casual tea drinkers to become tea connoisseurs.
