About this event
For more than three decades, the Iowa City Jazz Festival has been celebrating jazz with a weekend full of FREE live performances – and fireworks!
Over the years, audiences have enjoyed a variety of well-known local jazz musicians along with up-and-coming talent alongside national and international artists to encourage and educate a jazz audience of all ages.
This year’s event kicks off in the heart of downtown Iowa City on Friday, July 4, with a full slate of performances starting at 5 PM. The fun continues on Saturday the 5th, starting at 11:30 AM, and culminating with the annual Iowa City Independence Day July fireworks display over the Pentacrest that night. There'll be more music on Sunday, July 6, starting at noon. You’ll also be able to enjoy food and drink throughout each day and evening on Culinary Row and in the festival’s Beverage Garden.
