Rhythms at Riverfront Crossings: P.T.A. Organ Trio (jazz & funk)
About this event

School may be out for the summer, but the School of Soul IS OFFICIALLY IN SESSION!
East meets west in the middle when Omaha-based organist Mitch Towne and Chicago-based drummer extraordinary Ernie Adams combine forces with Iowa City-based saxophonist Damani Phillips. The result of this collaboration is the P.T.A. Organ Trio – a group that specializes in the more soulful, funky and bluesy side of the jazz tracks. The result is a musical mix that is guaranteed to offer a little something for all audiences to enjoy. This group is hard-hitting, hard-grooving, greasy soul jazz goodness at its finest.
Bring a blanket or a chair, plan on enjoying the wares from local food and drink trucks, and prepare to get your groove on!
Rhythms at Riverfront Crossings, hosted by Summer of the Arts, takes place (you guessed it!) at Riverfront Crossings Park, 1001 South Clinton Street. Parking is available at the park (please save for those with limited mobility) and across the street at the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 South Dubuque Street.
There is also easy bike access to Riverfront Crossings Park via the Iowa River Corridor, Highway 6, and Highway 1 trails. Check out Bike Iowa City’s Iowa City Metro Trails Map for details.
