About this event
Bur Oak Land Trust invites you to join them for a special Mother's Day hike through Big Grove Preserve!
Mark Madsen from the Iowa City Bird Club will talk about the many migratory birds passing through Iowa including a variety of warblers such as blackburian, black throated green, American redstart and chestnut-sided. There will also be scarlet tanagers along the way and several species of vireos and thrushes.
This hike is free and open to the public thanks to sponsorships from Grout Electric and Martin Construction. Registration is required.
Parking is not allowed on Starry Night Lane. Parking will be available at the Johnson County Conservation area northeast of the Big Grove entrance. Signs will be posted for parking.
Trails are maintained but also include natural tripping hazards and may be muddy this time of year. The hiking route may also include hills that are steep. Please wear sturdy shoes on the hike and bring your own water.
