Iowa History 101: Iowa's First Japanese Garden

About this event

The State Historical Society of Iowa invites you to join garden historian Beth Cody for a discussion of Iowa's first Japanese garden located in Burlington, and the subsequent history of Japanese gardens sprouting up around Iowa.

Learn more about the creative people who nurtured these beautiful, peaceful spots, and how Iowa's connection to Japan developed through a love of flowers and gardens.

The Iowa History 101 webinars share Iowa stories and the history of the state through a cultural history lens on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Registration is required for each event and to receive a link to the recorded program.
