Are you experiencing difficulty falling asleep or waking up periodically during the night? Sleep plays a pivotal role in maintaining optimal cognitive and physical health. Unfortunately, adults 50+ are likely to experience more significant struggles, leading to longitudinal cognitive decline and poor health outcomes.

This four-week course will provide an overview of sleep basics, fatigue and safety, joint disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, parasomnias, restless legs syndrome, and helpful information on how to get better sleep while living with these disorders.

Mark Eric Dyken is a professor of neurology specializing in sleep medicine, neurology, and clinical neurophysiology affiliated with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Co-presented with the Iowa City Senior Center.
